Tom Dew

Tom Dew has been diving since 1985 with the premier legacy shop Desert Divers in Tucson, taught by the legendary instructor Mike Huhn. Tom is a native Tucson, and has been going to San Carlos since the mid 1980s. Originally certified in PADI for Open Water and Advanced open water, then transitioned through the entire SSI system, starting from Open Water through the professional ranks, and now a Divemaster Instructor, and Elite Instructor.
He absolutely loves scuba diving in this magic realm, complete with exotic creatures. All this while flying weightless through this amazing landscape and travel world wide travel experience. Tom has been lucky enough to see a great deal of unique underwater creatures, an electric clam and 18-foot tiger shark in Fiji, Giant Oceanic Manta Rays in Bonaire, Logger Head and Green Turtles, large Angel Fish, Nurse Sharks, Moray Eels and Spotted Eagle Rats, in Cozumel and Belize.
Tom teaches Refreshers, Open Water Students, Advanced Open Water Students, and most specialty classes, (such as Navigation, Deep Diving, Stress and Rescue, Science of Diving, and many more). He even teaches those entering early stages of professional diving, the Divemaster certification.
Tom has a patient, "fun filled" and easy going personality, that does not compromise on your safety nor education. He will work hard to ensure you become a capable and confident diver, no mater where you are in your journey.
